Human skin regenerates itself constantly and the top layer of the skin (the cells actually) die off. However, as we move from our adolescence to our middle age, with each passing year, the process of the regeneration of the skin cells becomes slower. Hence, in order to remove the dullness, exfoliation is required, which is a method by which the dead skin cells are washed off and the fresh skin beneath is revealed.
How To Remove Dead Skin
Usually, a charcoal face scrub is the best option. But if you are finding ways to get rid of the dead skin and exfoliate it using natural products at home, here are some things you can do without having a lot of fuss over the time issue.
Oatmeal is a good way to get rid of the dead skin that is difficult to remove otherwise due to its grainy texture. All you need to do is take two tablespoons of oatmeal in a bowl and add some plain yogurt and honey. Mix the contents and apply on your face.
While you apply this mixture on your face, scrub it lightly on the skin in circular motion. This would get the dead skin cells away. When that’s done, let the coating sit on your face for around 15-20 minutes before washing it off. The face will look fresh and full of youthfulness.
Green Tea is versatile
Green Tea is a very versatile drink due to its vast health benefits. However, you can double up its duties and use what is left over. Not sure what am I talking about? Take two of the used tea bags and empty the contents in a bowl. Add a couple of teaspoons of honey and baking soda (optional). Mix them well until you have a thick consistent paste. Apply the paste on your skin like a facial mask and let it dry for around 20 minutes. Once it had dried, scrub your face with wet fingers without washing off the mask. Follow this routine for at least once a week.
Many of you might not be knowing this but just as coffee is used as a stress and fatigue buster, it can even be used to get rid of the dead skin cells that you may have. It is one of the best home remedies to get rid of dead skin and bring out the fresh you.
Take a couple of tablespoons of coffee grounds and mix it with almond oil, honey, and fine sugar. Make it into a thick paste and apply it on your face and any other part like elbows or knees. Let the mixture sit on your skin for around 20 minutes and then rinse it off with clean water. After that is done, do not wipe the skin but just pat it to dry using a soft towel. The result is desirable.
Work your time out
Take time out for personal grooming to have healthy and youthful skin. Remember, dead skin is something that almost everyone suffers from once they reach a certain age. Even if you are too busy with your schedule, all of these things can be done just once a week, probably a Sunday, and wouldn’t require a lot of your time. Mere half an hour is enough.
