Yoga Benefits, 5 Yoga Poses to Reduce Weight

Below are five poses of yoga that help in reducing weight.

1.Chair Pose or Utkatasana
This is a pose helpful to strengthen the muscles, thighs, and toning the buttocks. To do this pose you have to stand straight with both the legs together and hands as a namaste in front of your chest. Slowly bend your knees into a sitting position where your thighs are parallel to the floor. Raise your hands above head and stay in this position as long as you can.

2.Tree pose or Vraksasana
This pose helps to tone muscles of your thighs, arms and abdomen. To do this pose stand straight with your feet together and keep your hands as namaste in front of your chest. Put as much as your body weight on any one leg and keep the other leg with less weight. Lift the less weight leg and bend it by keeping its feet on the other leg thighs in a perpendicular form. Lift the feet as high as near to the pelvis. Raise your hands above your head and stand like this as long as you can. Later come back to the beginning position.

3.Warrior pose or Veerabharasana
Warrior pose is done to strengthen all parts of the body. It tones the muscles of thighs, arms, legs, back muscles and shoulder. This pose is attained by spreading the legs in the opposite direction as front to back as far as one can stretch. Raise your hands in a straight line and then join it above head. Bend your front knee and stay for a while. Come back to the beginning position.

4.Half moon pose or Ardhachandrasana
Half moon is a pose which has great benefits in weight loss. It helps in toning the upper and inner thighs, buttocks, and burns the extra fat on the tummy sides. This pose is done by standing straight with your feet together. Raise your hands above your head and extend it as straight as you can. Join both hands and then bend to the side with clasped hands until your hip level. Make sure you do not bend your knees or elbow and do not bend forward. Stay in the position as long as you can and come back to the standing position.

5.Saluting Sun or Surya Namaskara
Surya Namaskara is one of the yoga poses which is a must for all, as it is a blend of more than one pose and helps greatly with weight loss as well as with other things such as developing concentration, etc. This is a pose which needs a clear practice with a step by step.
